This is the third case of #HusbandSuicide we are reporting from Gujarat in past one week. The government at the state and centre are failing Men in coping with harassment, stress and threats given by wives misusing Gender Biased Laws.
How many more men need to die for any government to wake up and make laws Gender Neutral?
Case:
A young man from Pandesara, Surat who was working as an accountant was disturbed due to constant quarrels with wife at home. Finally, he decided to end life and instructed police not to hand over his body to wife in his suicide note.
Hemant Navinchandra Patel, who lives in Lakshmi Narayan Division-1 in Dindoli area of Surat, worked as an accountant in the diamond industry, is survived by his wife, two children and a sister along with his mother. Hemant had been married for 13-years.
Since past few days, the disputes within his family had increased tremendously, due to which Hemant was under constant mental stress. The man ultimately left home on March 08 as he was fed up with daily harassment. He left his purse, watch, mobile and bike all at home as he decided to just leave.
At around 12.30am, a call was received from the police station on the mobile number of deceased’s sister, sharing the sad news of her brother’s suicide. The cops called Hemant’s sister as her mobile number was mentioned in the suicide note recovered from his pocket.
After receiving information of Hemant’s death, the family immediately reached the police station. Following the incident, the police have registered the case and started investigation.
