Bengaluru Techie Writes Open Letter To PM Modi To Stop Legal Extortion By Wives From Men & Their Families

False cases in matrimonial matters have ruined several families of men over the decades. After years of humiliation in society and being labelled as domestic abusers, the accused mere get an acquittal if the cases are proven to be false.

Men spend their crucial years of career in running from court to court, often in a different city, if the wife chooses to return to her maternal home and file a false case there as per her convenience.

Here’s a story of a techie and a law graduate from Bengaluru, Karnataka, whose wife stayed in her matrimonial home only for 45-days and has now filed a false 498A against the husband and his parents. The man alleges threats of dire consequences if they don’t fulfil their alimony demands.

His Story

I am a victim of matrimonial scam. I had married a doctor from Bengaluru in March 2020. From the date of marriage and including the wedding function my parents were insulted by my wife and her mother (her mother is also a divorcee).

My wife used to work at a nearby hospital in the city and after 45-days of marriage, she went for her duty as usual and did not return home. After calling her several times, she said she is not interested to come back.

When I called my mother-in-law, she also said the same and warned me that they will teach me and my father a lesson if we don’t agree to their demands. Since then, my wife and her mother have blocked our contact numbers and when any of my relatives try calling them they respond with false allegations .

Now my wife has filed a false case against me in Kozhikode Kerala on the basis of insanity (Sec 12(I)(c). My family is a reputed family from Bengaluru .My Father and mother are practicing government advocates. I am a software engineer working with a reputed company after having completed my engineering degree with a distinction and also LLB degree passing out as a college topper.

Though, as a family, we have not acquired lot of wealth or assets, we have always lived our lives with integrity and respect.

My wife, who stayed barely for 45-days in our home, has now filed a false case on me and my parents, only to harass them and tarnish the image of our family. While we live in Bengaluru, the case is filed at my wife’s native Kozhikode in Kerala.

This case is just to humiliate and extort money from us.

I have read such type of false cases during my study of law. After fighting the case for years the husband and his family are acquitted, as the allegations tend to be false and the woman (wife) and her family just walk away freely without any charge.

This is a serious issue. Just like me and my family, thousands of innocent families have been and will be targeted. I am not supporting any wrong – be it a husband or wife in any case. It is just that there should be an end to the misuse and abuse of the process of law. There should be some consideration to the husband and family at least when they are innocent and law abiding citizens.

Me and my family have always believed in our justice system, please help victim’s like me and please incorporate some measures so that such wrong women are punished and they do not abuse the process of law.

Like other innocent victims ,me and my family have thought of ending our lives because of the humiliation. A humble request to you Sir, please do the needful before it is too late and we also end our lives.
