There have been several incidents of a married woman dying by suicide after being harassed by her in-law’s family, but in this case it is different. A young man ended his life by hanging himself after being mentally harassed by his wife’s family for several reasons.
Case:
Abhijit Kantilal, a 32-year-old man died by suicide due to allegedly facing mental and physical harassment from his wife and father-in-law for various reasons since several days. He was a resident of Sarpadoh in Karmala Taluka of Solapur, Maharashtra.
A few days ago before ending his life, Abhijit’s wife left the house for no reason and as a result Abhijit begged her to come back to him, but her family refused to do so.
The woman’s father also demanded that his son-in-law should first transfer his land in the name of his daughter (deceased’s wife). Due to this, tremendous mental pressure was being put on Abhijit as he was scared of losing his wife forever.
Not just this, the accused even took money from the victim son-in-law for some construction work and never paid for it. Due to such constant harassment from his father-in-law’s side, Abhijit decided to take the extreme step as it affected him severely in every way. He hung himself from a pipe at home.
As soon as the incident came to light, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. After questioning the relatives and family members in the case, the police have registered a case under various sections against four members of the family, including the wife of the deceased. Police are investigating the incident further for more details.
