Woman With Help Of Mother & Lover Murders Husband In Order To Become Beneficiary Of Victim’s Government Job

A woman, her mother and woman’s boyfriend from Chandrapur district in Maharashtra have been arrested for murdering the former’s husband, in order to obtain a government job.

Case:

Mayat Maruti Kakade (34) worked at a government coal mine in the district. He had disputes with his wife Prajakta since he was allegedly an alcoholic. Prajakta was in an illicit relationship with one Sanjay Tikle, who was the brother-in-law of her sister. The two – along with Prajakta’s mother Kanta Mhasakshetre – decided to get Maruti eliminated as then, the wife of the deceased would be given her dead husband’s government job and her life would be at ease after marrying her lover.

Murder

An unknown body was recovered in a sack on the banks of Wardha river in Ballarpur town in the district. Subsequently, police initiated an investigation into the case. Following the same, the officials learnt that it was none other but the wife of the deceased who murdered her husband, with the help of her mother and boyfriend.

The ghastly crime took place in Nakoda, around 50 kilometres from Ballarpur. The accused took help from one Vikas Nagarle who arrived at Maruti’s residence to explore if the latter was interested in renting his home to him. Later the two started drinking, left the house and drove to Nakoda.

It was here that Maruti was strangled to death. His body was wrapped up in a sack and thrown in the river later. In fact, the accused wanted the police to recover the body as soon as possible, so that formalities of government job transfer in the wife’s name could be initiated.

Police Investigation

The cops grew suspicious after checking Maruti’s mobile call data and thus the wife was detained and questioned by the police.

Soon Prajakta confessed to the crime and also named her mother, boyfriend and accomplice Vikas accomplice in the murder. All were detained and later produced before the court.
