A 34-year-old woman in Naranpura was booked by Ahmedabad police for allegedly biting into the biceps of her husband after a domestic dispute on Saturday. The assault did not stop here as she not only thrashed her husband but also his parents.
The woman even allegedly vandalised entire furniture at home, when the man and his parents locked themselves inside a room to rescue themselves.
Here’s What Happened
A 40-year-old man, who works as an HR manager with a reputed leading insurance firm in Prahladnagar and
resident of Naranpura, has accused his wife of allegedly harassing him over small issues for around two-years now.
The man’s parents, who used to live with the couple earlier, have also left the house to live separately as they
were fed up with his wife’s tantrums. The man then blamed his wife for the same, after which she picked up a fight with her in-laws.
On Sunday afternoon, the accused woman allegedly indulged into an argument with her husband’s parents and abused them, said the police. When the complainant husband interfered, the woman abused him too. Later the violent wife allegedly dragged her mother-in-law by pulling her hair, took her to another room and thrashed her there.
The husband then lodged a complaint against his wife with the Naranpura police on Sunday.
An official from Naranpura police station described the matter and told TOI:
When the man tried to save his mother from the accused, she turned to him, held his hand and allegedly bit into his biceps. His father tried to rescue him, but the accused allegedly thrashed him too.
During the incident, the victims somehow managed to lock up inside a room to save themselves from the woman. After they were behind a closed door, the complainant’s father called the cops. A team from Naranpura police station officials arrived at the spot and rescued the man and his parents from the woman.
The official added,
When the victims had locked themselves inside the room, the accused had allegedly vandalised the house and damaged the furniture of the drawing-room.
The husband and his mother were taken for medical treatment later. Based on the complaint filed by the man, Naranpura police registered a case against the woman for causing hurt and damaging property.
False Case By Wife
The husband also mentioned that a year ago, the accused wife had even filed a false complaint of domestic violence against him and his parents.
Domestic Violence Law in India Is Gender-Biased
Men cannot approach court citing domestic violence by wife. Most often, when husbands in such state, seek help from police, they are returned terming it as family dispute (ghar ka mamla). Even in the above case, a mere complaint has been registered and there is no report on arrest of the woman yet.
