A shocking case from Uttar Pradesh gets reported where a woman was found alive and married living with her family while six persons were jailed for her murder 12-years ago.
A strange case was exposed when a dead girl hailing from Kalpi town of Jalaun district was found living a happily married with her husband and family in Aligarh. Six persons who were arrested on charges of her murder had spent years in jail till now.
Case:
According to the police investigation, the girl was 14-years-old when she went missing in 2008. Kotwali police station had received a missing complaint when the girl was not to be found by her parents. A few days later, a body of an unidentified girl was recovered from Ghatampur area of Kanpur district.
When the girl’s mother was called in for identification of the body, she identified the same as her missing daughter and registered a complaint at Kotwali police station. Not just this, but the alleged victim’s mother also accused six persons who could have been involved in the kidnapping and murdering of her daughter.
The woman had also accused local police of biased attitude, following which the probe was transferred to the Crime-Branch Crime Investigation Department (CBCID).
Who Traced Her?
The missing girl is now a 26-year-old woman, and was found by Jalaun police in Aligarh following a complaint by a local politician. This took an ultimate turn in the investigation of the case.
The police re-initiated the investigation after bringing the woman to Kalpi. According to police sources, the woman soon would be presented in court. An official told TOI,
During investigation by CBCID, a charge sheet was filed and subsequently, six persons were arrested and sent to jail.
He further mentioned,
One of the accused died during trial in 2012, while five others were released after procuring bail.
Adding further to the matter, senior officers said that the murder charges against the five accused will now be dropped and they will soon be given a clean chit. SP Jalaun Yashveer Singh said,
We have apprised CBCID that had filed a charge sheet in this connection.
With regards to the woman’s statement, SP quoted:
The woman, who is married now, will be produced before a court where her statement will be recorded.
