Singh died during his treatment, however, he blamed his wife as accused in the last statement given to the police. He said,
My wife and I were sleeping at night. Suddenly she put kerosene on me and burnt me alive.
Investigation
On November 5, when the FSL team reached the spot of the incident, they found the bed burnt. After gathering all pieces of evidence, the accused woman was caught by the police, however, she kept denying charges made against her. She maintained that she did not know how the fire had been lighted.
Background
The couple was going through struggling times as they were married for around eight years, but were not blessed with any child. This was the main reason for frequent fights between the two.
Both the husband and the wife held each other responsible for the same. Moreover, Singh thought that the woman wanted to marry somebody else, while Heral thought that her husband wanted to marry another woman.
According to the media reports, sometime ago Singh had visited Gujarat for work, and this is when his wife had eloped with someone else. The husband had later searched for her and brought her back home.
