A video clip went viral where a woman from Maharashtra was apparently shot by a relative when she was thrashing her infant child.
The woman was reportedly seen mercilessly beating her 6-month-old child during an argument with her mother-in-law.
Case:
Ambazari police station inspector Narendra Hiwre confirmed that the incident took place in Pandharabodi area of Maharashtra’s Nagpur district on May 24.
The officials have counselled the parents of the toddler boy and also asked the child welfare department to look into the matter.
After the clip went viral on social media platforms, some residents of Pandharabodi alerted the Ambazari police. On Sunday, Hiwre along with his team went to the boy’s house and brought him and his parents to the police station.
The police fed the child and counselled his parents. According to the officials, the parents were asked not to hit the child and later they were allowed to go.
Background:
The child’s father used to work as a drummer, but is currently jobless due to the coronavirus-induced restrictions. The child’s grandmother works as a domestic help and earns Rs 2,000 per month, which she spends to sustain the livelihood of the family.
A neighbour told the police that the child’s mother and grandmother used to have frequent quarrels over their financial woes.
MDO Take:
Shockingly there has been no action against the woman despite video evidence of her beating the child. If genders were reversed, father would have been jailed by now. Crime has no gender, but women in India are protected due to Gender Biased Laws.

Every single man in India must open his eyes to these #GenderBiasedLaws
Several husbands have been left literally begging for separation from such women, but latter get away due to protection from our appeasement laws
