Last week, a woman functionary of an ashram in Maharashtra has been booked for allegedly injuring a six-year-old inmate with hot candle wax.
The Ezabel Gonsalves Jeevan Pushpa Ashram, where the victim, a boy, was an inmate, is located near in Palghar district (border of Maharashtra and Gujarat). The official confirmed,
A woman functionary of the ashram allegedly poured hot candle wax on the boy’s hands as corporal punishment.

The parents of the victim filed a police complaint on December 23 evening, after which she was booked under section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. However, no arrest has been made so far.
Now, just reverse the genders and imagine if an accused man in similar situation, would have been spared from arrest. Our Gender Biased Laws only encourage women to plan and execute such acts without any fear whatsoever.
