A video has been circulating on social media where a woman named Aparna (Thakur) Soni did a press conference accusing Bhojpuri actor & BJP MP Ravi Kishan to be the father of her daughter.
After the video went viral, an FIR has been registered against six persons in Lucknow, including four members of a family, a Samajwadi Party leader and a journalist, for allegedly trying to extort Rs 20 crore from the Gorakhpur MP, as reported by The Indian Express.
Case:
Aparna, via her press conference dated April 16, 2024, claimed that she had been married to the politician and the duo had a daughter named Shenova.
Following the allegations, Lok Sabha Gorakhpur candidate’s wife Preeti Shukla filed an FIR against six persons, namely, Aparna’s husband Rajesh Soni, their daughter Shenova Soni (27) and son Saunak Soni (25), Samajwadi Party’s state media in-charge Vivek Kumar Pandey and Kursheed Khan Raju, a journalist purportedly associated with an electronic channel.
According to the FIR, all accused were threatening Ravi Kishan of charging him with a ‘false rape case’ if he did not pay them Rs 20 crore.
Speaking with The Indian Express, Hazratganj Station House Officer (SHO) Vikram Singh, said:
Preeti Shukla claimed that the woman and other accused are blackmailers. She alleged that she had filed a complaint against Aparna Soni with the Mumbai police two years back and she along with her associates was blackmailing their family.
Preeti Shukla also accused Aparna Soni of threatening to harm their family, claiming that she and her associates have underworld connections. Shukla expressed fear for her family’s safety from Aparna and her associates.
All six accused have been booked under:
- Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy)
- Section 195 (fabricating false evidence with intent to procure conviction of offence punishable with imprisonment for life or imprisonment)
- Section 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt)
- Section 388 (extortion by threat of accusation of an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life, etc)
- Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace)
- Section 506 (criminal intimidation)

Ravi Kishan is married to Preeti Shukla and the couple has three daughters and one son.

We refrain from taking sides in this politically motivated case, however, the timing of bigamy & fatherhood allegations against Ravi Kishan, surely raise suspicion on the onset of Lok Sabha elections 2024.
