In a tragic incident reported from Gurugram, a 25-year-old man allegedly hanged himself at his home here after a breakup with his girlfriend.
The accused woman has been booked for abetment to suicide as on April 10, 2024, reported PTI.
Case:
Shivam Bhatnagar had been in a relationship with a woman. However, post their break-up, Shivam decided to end his life on April 09, 2024. On the fateful day, the victim send a suicide note to his friend Akash at around 06.45pm. The note was meant for his father, which read:
Papa, Please forgive me, I am ending my life.
On receiving the note, Akash immediately phoned Shivam’s father Sanjay Bhatnagar who is a priest in Krishna Temple in Jacobpura and lived on the first floor. The priest and others rushed to Shivam’s room and broke open the door to find him hanging from the ceiling fan with a bedsheet, police said.
Shivam was taken to a nearby hospital, however, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Statement by Victim’s Father
Shivam’s father, Sanjay filed a case at the City police station against the accused woman, along with her male friend who are mentioned in the note, police said.
Sanjay informed the police that Shivam had spoken to the woman from 2.30 pm to 5 pm on that day, after which he allegedly killed himself.
Police Action
After receiving the complaint, an FIR was registered under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) and Section 34 (common intention) IPC against the woman and her friend.
The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem and further investigation is underway, a senior police officer concluded.
