Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his estranged wife Aaliya have been going through a heated divorce for some time now. Earlier in May, Aaliya had sent Nawazuddin a legal notice demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life.
Now, the latest accusation from Aaliya is that the actor has stopped paying her monthly maintenance. Aaliya reportedly had told a news portal that her soon to be ex-husband has stopped supporting her financially. As a result she is unable to pay their school fees. She further stated that she is facing a financial problem due to it and had to sell her car to stay afloat.
Nawazuddin has finally spoken out after keeping mum for a long time. The actor has now responded to the one sided public accusations by sending a legal notice with subject:
Engaging in fraud, wilful and planned defamation as well as slander of character.

According to the actor, he had legally replied to Aaliya’s notice for ‘dissolution of marriage’ on May 19 itself, contrary to Aaliya’s statement of not receiving any response. According to the TOI report, Nawazuddin’s notice emphasised that he has been providing for their children’s expenses, their education and has evidence for the same, while his wife alleged that he had stopped paying the allowance.
Nawazuddin’s lawyer Adnan Shaikh said,
EMI is still being paid by my client. Other children related expenses too. Divorce notice was replied to but again, she has stated the contrary in order to defame through this well thought slander campaign.
Aaliya has been giving several interviews maligning Nawazuddin and his family’s image in public. She has also demanded sole custody of both the children.

Meanwhile Aaliya has once again responded via her social media account stating,
Good that you have finally spoken @Nawazuddin_S
Do await my reply. I will have no reasons to now hold back any actions as sought to be initiated against you personally, by me.
Social media is an effective tool to raise your voice, however, the same must not be misused to tarnish your partner’s image, just because he happens to be a man and people will fall for the woman’s version. We have court of law in the country that will finally decide the legalities in a divorce battle. Yet many estranged wives take to online platforms to misguide and create public perception, which could be absolutely anti-husband.
