This comes as a fresh hope for several falsely accused men. Haryana State Commission for Women has taken serious cognisance of multiple rape complaints filed by a 20-year-old girl on seven different Men at seven different police stations.
Ms Preeti Bhardwaj Dalal, Chairperson, Haryana State Commission for Women, has written an official letter to DGP Haryana, demanding a formation of Special Investigating Team (SIT) in the matter.
Case:
Last week, a group of Men’s Rights Activists led by Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, independent journalist, approached Gurugram police alerting them of 6 different rape and sexual assault cases filed by the same girl on six different men. In the interim, the accused girl has also filed a 7th case on 7th man this week.
Deepika had written an official complaint to Haryana State Commission for Women, which read:
This is to bring to your notice that Ms X has been acquainting with men over social media, at the gym and various other places, indulging in consensual sex and then either forcing them for marriage or extorting money from them. She refuses medical tests and sometimes withdraws rape charges as she pleases.
I have spoken to several families who have suffered from her visiting outside their homes, creating a ruckus, leading them on the verge of suicide. It seems her family too is involved, as her mother visits police station each time along with her for registering the complaint.
In August this year, she forced one of the men to marry her in Arya Samaj Mandir and later filed rape case against him too. She also threatened this man’s friends to falsely implicate them in gang rape case. All these men submitted their complaint jointly at the Gurugram police station.
Infact, there are two cases where police has charged this accused girl under Section 182 of the IPC, however, she continues to file multiple false rape cases against different men.
I urge you to look at both side of the evidences to stop misuse of beneficial provisions to women.
Cases registered by the girl so far at:
- Rajendra Park Police Station
- Gurugram Sadar Police Station
- Sector 10, Gurugram Police Station
- Gurugram city Police Station
- New Colony Police Station
- Sector 15 Police Station
- Cyber Police Station
Action by Haryana State Commission for Women
Ms Preeti Bhardwaj Dalal has now officially issued a letter to DGP Haryana, attaching Deepika’s complaint letter. State Commission for Women’s letter briefly reads as below:
The matter has come to light via media reports and complaint filed by socially aware citizen.
The Commission wishes to bring to your notice, that while safety and security of women is paramount to the Commission and as an expert body, we work and epouse the social, economic, legal and constitutional rights of women in Haryana.
However, laws are made to protect every individual, irrespective of their gender.
As we see to it today, many laws which were made to benefit the females are many times used by them to their advantage in a wrong way by interfering with the rights of the males. As has been said, Laws are like double-edged weapons.
If they are made to protect rights of a person, they can also be misused to throttle the liberty of opponents.
Accordingly, an SIT has been demanded by Ms Preeti Bhardwaj Dalal, along with submission of weekly reports in the said matter.
