Mothers are next to God………..well not all!
In a shocking case reported from Madhya Pradesh, a 23-year-old woman has been arrested for selling her newborn baby. The woman was in a live-in relationship and when her partner refused to keep the child, the couple decided to sell off the baby for a few lakhs.
Case:
Shaina Bi, (23) was in a live-in relationship with Anter Singh for the past one year. However, when she got pregnant with his child, Anter refused to accept the baby.
Thus, the couple decided to approach their landlord Neha Suryavanshi if she could help them in broking the deal. Neha then got hold Leena Singh, a resident of Dewas with the help of one Pooja Verma, Neelam Verma and a minor.
Leena had recently lost her twins weeks after their birth and wanted adopt a baby. Because the adoption process takes time, she decided to ‘buy’ the baby. The deal was fixed the deal at Rs 5.5 lakh.
Social Worker Alerts Police
After the baby went missing, a social worker alerted the police that something was amiss. He also informed cops that the couple had suddenly gone on a shopping spree after the disappearance of the new born.
Satish Patel of Indore’s Heeranagar police station town inspector, informed Hindustan Times,
The social activist informed us that a woman living with a man, a daily wager, gave birth to a baby 15-days ago. And now, the baby is missing but they have bought a bunch of home appliances and motor cycle.
All Arrested
Both Shaina and Anter have been arrested. All three women who brokered the deal – Neha, Pooja, Neelam – have also been arrested. Leena, and the minor who assisted the deal, have been arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act which bars illegal adoption.
Police said they have also seized the goods bought by the young couple including a motor cycle, LED TV, washing machine and refrigerator.
