New day, another #HusbandSuicide reported this time from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
A young man, who was a teacher by profession, ended life by shooting himself on the forehead on Wednesday. The victim was allegedly harassed by his wife who had lodged an FIR for dowry harassment and also did not allow him to meet his daughter. The victim husband was suffering from depression due to this.
Case:
Ritesh Dwivedi, (37), used to take online coaching classes. In 2014, he got married to Komal, a resident of Dabouli.
However, two-years ago, due to disputes between the couple, the wife left him and returned to her parental home. She had also taken their 4-year-old daughter Adhya along with her.
Later, in 2019, Komal lodged an FIR for dowry harassment against her husband and also her in-laws. Due to this, Ritesh slipped in depression.
The entire family was constantly living in fear, after police complaint. Ritesh was very scared as his estranged wife was allegedly threatening to send his entire family to jail. This is when he slipped into depression and according to his father, Ritesh took this extreme step because of false litigation and cases by his wife.
Wife Did Not Allow Husband To Meet Daughter
Surya Prakash Dwivedi, father of the victim,, who retired from Insurance Hospital, said that his son was not being allowed to meet with his daughter. Last week, Ritesh wanted to meet wife and his child, but Komal did not meet him, nor allowed him to see his daughter.
Ritesh returned home and was very upset. Later, on Wednesday, he died suicide by shooting himself.
Police Statement
Officials from Barra police station reached the spot after getting information of suicide. ADCP Manish Sonkar said that the young man died by suicide by shooting himself with a gun due to mental stress. The matter is under investigation.
MDO Take:
- These cases will be recorded as suicides and most likely the dead man will be blamed for not being strong enough to face tough situations
- However, these are nothing less than cold blooded murders by a system, which empowers women with one-sided laws, that can be used/misused to threaten men and their families
- Men are most vulnerable as Fathers and whenever they are undergoing separation or multiple criminal cases by wife, children become their only strength to live
- Unfortunately, in most cases, many vindictive women use children as tools to harass and torment men, by not allowing communication or any access whatsoever between father and child
- Our government continues to be on a spree by driving the narrative of “Oppressed Women – Oppressor Men” and are equally party to numerous young male lives being cut short almost on a daily basis
- Lastly, to all men going through similar problems, please understand it may be easy to end life, but you are leaving behind old parents who will only weep for the rest of their lives
- Instead, take charge of your life, speak with people, speak with NGOs, make yourself so strong, that no false case can break you and your family
- Gender Biased Laws may not change for next many decades – do not expect any justice by the system even after you are gone, because as mentioned by the police officer above, the victim was having “mental stress”
- Please speak with NGOs below, gain mental strength, so that someday you will be able to help other men in your situation fight this phase of life

I totally understand. I am a man and also a victim of false allegation. I contemplated suicide. Finally our Nest security camera recorded what my wife and her mother were speaking. Thanks to cloud storage, I showed it to them. From then onwards they increased the torture. From then onwards they started blaming my mother for no reason (because I showed my wife’s mother’s words and how she pushed her daughter to torture, control and send money to India). For 5 years, we did not even try to have kids. I am not in the process of divorce. I hope I would be able to get rid off her.
My parents were very strong and told my wife and co, “go ahead and file any case that you want. We are going to file divorce. Will meet you in court.”
And, my friends’s situation is almost same. Unfortunately (I should not be saying this) they had kids. So, they don’t want to have divorce. The wives would not allow send money to India to take care of parents. They would threaten with false allegations.
They would not say a word about these because men should always be strong.
