We as husbands / boyfriends / partners would have often picked up flowers for our loved ones. But here’s a man from Japan, who loves his wife so much that he actually went ahead and planted a blooming garden — just to bring back the lost smile on her face.
Mr. and Mrs. Kuroki got married in 1956, and Mrs. Kuroki joined her husband on his dairy farm in Shintomi, Japan. The two of them have had a wonderful journey together and have lived it to the fullest. The couple has two kids and after 30 years of hard work, they decided to retire and explore their own country. Unfortunately, all did not go as per the plan.
Mrs. Kuroki is diabetic, and because of a few complications, she lost her vision. Observing this, Mr. Kuroki decided to do something to cheer her up.
The loving husband, wanted to make his 52-year-old wife happy again, since the woman would often stay within the confines of her home and not venture out much. This is when Kuroki made an extraordinary gesture of love to make her life better.
The caring man planted a lush carpet of thousands of beautiful-smelling flowers so his wife could enjoy their garden again. While pondering this in his garden, he spotted a pink shibazakura flower growing and realised it wasn’t just stunning to look at, but also lovely to smell.
Since he couldn’t take his wife to explore the beautiful world as per their earlier plan, he decided to bring it to her. So, he decided to plant more flowers in his garden, in the hopes that it would attract more people to his garden. This way, he would be able to bring the world to his wife.
Even though he knew she wouldn’t be able to see them, she would at least be able to smell them and he felt the pleasant aroma might bring some joy to her. The loving husband spent almost two-years planting thousands of flowers so that he would be able to bring a smile on her face.
As expected, all his plans fell into place and soon enough, the garden of love started to attract a lot of visitors, turning into a major tourist attraction.
The garden as on date, attracts close to 7,000 people a day when the flowers are in full bloom during March and April. Their cowshed, which once held 60 cows, has been turned into a display so they can share their love story with the world. Most importantly, Mrs. Kuroki loves and enjoys having so many visitors and she too is seen walking around the garden and smiling.
In an era of hook ups and break ups and husband bashing, this is such a touching story which showcases the softer, loving, caring and unparalleled side of a man.
