A bank official from Karnal ended his life after three people were constantly blackmailing to implicate him in a false rape case. On January 15, the cops sent the body for post-mortem in Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and handed over the body to the relatives.
Jagdish Kumar, employee of Bank of India, Karnal, died by suicide after three accused Pawan, Kiran and Sanjeev were constantly harassing and blackmailing him for money. Sector 32-33 police registered a case against all accused on charges of blackmailing, money laundering, threatening to implicate the deceased in a false case, mental stress and abetment of suicide.
The deceased’s wife, Sharda Devi, a resident of Rajivapuram in her complaint mentioned that her husband Kumar was an employee of Bank of India who was about to retire in three months. Jagdish faced constant blackmailing and demand for money from the accused.

Sharda Devi further stated that a false notice was also sent to her husband by the accused on January 11. When he received the same, he returned home under too much stress. The accused had demanded a huge amount yet again.
The wife and the family tried to explain to Kumar that they should approach the police. However, the man was under so much mental stress, that he decided to end his life. Sharda also informed the cops that Kumar has left a suicide note written in his diary before ending life. In his last note, he mentioned that the accused had already extorted Rs 5 lakh from him.
The police are investigating the case and taking action based on the complaint.
