A youth from Greater Noida has been booked for allegedly raping his neighbour in Sector 5. However, the cops suspect that the accused and the woman were in a relationship and her husband lodged a complaint after he came to know about their consensual affair.
Case:
The couple stays in a rented accommodation in Amroha. The 24-year-old accused man also stays in a rented accommodation in an adjacent house. According to the complaint filed by the woman’s husband, it has been alleged that the suspect used to send indecent texts to the complainant’s wife.
The husband also claims that he had warned the man to stay away from his spouse after confronting him. He quoted:
On Saturday evening when my wife was alone in the house, he sneaked in and forced himself on her. I later filed a complaint on him on Sunday morning.
The husband further said,
I saw him leaving my house when I arrived. When I went in, I saw my wife unconscious and her clothes were torn.
However, as the probe went on further, the cops suspect that the allegations made on the man were not true. It is also because the police claimed that the woman has been equally responding to the texts that suggested the two having an affair. The official said,
It seems the woman had an affair with the accused and after the husband found out, he accused the neighbour of raping her.
The Police also spoke about the chats that happened between the two. Rakesh Kumar Singh, station officer at Sector 20 said,
The chats show that both woman and the young man had exchanged obscene pictures and written messages to each other.
The man is currently booked under IPC Section 376 (rape) and the woman has been sent for medical examination. Singh added,
A woman sub-inspector has been assigned who is ensuring that a medical examination is conducted and she is questioning her and the suspect. We will arrest him after due proceedings.
