A shocking incident from Kolkata has been reported, which shames the beautiful bond between a father and daughter.
A 12-year-old girl has accused her father of sexually abusing her in a conspiracy because he did not buy her mobile phone….yes you read that right! The minor complained to the police, however, when the matter reached court, she later confessed the real reason to the judge privately. The court acquitted the accused father Mohammad Javed, citing the truth in the matter after considering the girl’s statement to the magistrate.
Sealdah’s First Additional District and Sessions Judge Jimutbahan Biswas handed down the order last Thursday. After the verdict was announced, he ordered the girl to be sent to a juvenile home. Asim Kumar, special public prosecutor in the case, said on Saturday that the judge had acquitted Mohammad Javed from the false POCSO Case. Since the girl made one allegation in the police station and completely different in front of the judge, the case could not sustain. Thus he said he could not pursue this case any further.
When the investigating officer in the case was questioned, he said,
I have heard the verdict of the court. However, I have not received the copy of the order yet. So I will not say anything in detail about this.
According to court sources, the girl, a resident of Motijheel Convent Lane of Entally Police Station in Kolkata, went to the police station with her mother on July 8 and lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against her father. On the basis of these allegations, the police filed a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the father, Mohammad Javed.

However, later the teenager gave completely statement to a judicial magistrate the next day. The public prosecutor said that it was at the court, that the girl confessed to why she cooked up a false story. She clearly told the judge that her father had not abused her. She solely did this because she was angry that he did not buy her a mobile phone. The judicial magistrate then sent the sealed envelope to the judge of the special court in POCSO.
Judge Jimutabahan released the ‘accused’ father on the same day after seeing the copy of the complaint filed at Biswas police station and the documents of the girl’s statement in the court.
