On February 2, a woman in Ramannaguda village of Chevella in Hyderabad killed her 2-year-old son, Dhanush Kumar, after a dispute with her father-in-law. The cops who were investigating the case said that the accused mother Parameshwari, allegedly strangled the baby in order to stop him from breathing.
Case:
Shiva Kumar, the father of the deceased child, married to Parameshwari five-years ago and the couple were blessed with two children. Kumar plays drums for a living.
On the day of the incident, he had gone to Moinabad and soon after he left, the wife got embroiled in a fierce dispute with her father-in-law, Venkataiah. The argument happened reportedly over a petty issue.
Chevella inspector CH Balakrishna told TOI,
Venkataiah is a paralytic patient. She took objection to his smoking and quarrelled with him.
The accused woman was also reportedly drunk at the time of the incident. Thereafter, around 5 in the evening when the fight took place, the accused mother went into another room along with son Dhanush and killed the baby for unknown reasons.
Dhanush was found dead by one of their relatives who came to the house after a few hours. The relative asked Parameshwari about the boy, however, she chose to ignore the questions that were posed to her. Later, when probed by her family members, the woman confessed to having killed her son.
The cops were called in by dialling 100 helpline number and they have registered a case against the woman on charges of murder of her son. She has been taken into custody.
