Daughter-in-Law Who Was Caught On Camera Thrashing 82-Year-Old Mother-in-Law Arrested

A shocking video that went viral through the day today was that of an 82-year-old woman being thrashed by her daughter-in-law. Initially while several people tweeted about the same, it was later found that the woman belongs to Sector 23 of Sonipat in Haryana. Here’s what happened.

The daughter-in-law, who is an auxiliary nurse-midwife (ANM), in Sonipat was caught on camera beating and abusing her old mother-in-law, Sukhdei. The fully abled daughter-in-law physically violated the elderly woman, because the older woman was unable to do household chores.

This elderly woman seen in the video, is barely able to walk on her own, yet her daughter-in-law has used her might to force her do the household work. Incidentally, the grandchildren who were present at home used their presence of mind and recorded the video.

Many prominent twitter handles started sharing the video and subsequently, the police took action and started the investigation by registering a case against the daughter-in-law of the elderly woman and her mother.

NCW Chief Rekha Sharma took cognisance in the matter and tweeted,

Meanwhile, Sector-23 police Station In-charge Katar Singh said that the woman has been working as a nurse in the health department. The accused woman has been arrested now and she has also confessed to harassing and beating her mother-in-law. The police will produce her before the court soon.

Further, Advocate Akshay Madan also confirmed the arrest of this woman. He wrote,

@sharmarekha ji, Dr. Ravinder DSP is an excellent officer. This FIR was registered Suo Moto on his behalf when this video got viral, I Am in his contact personally in this case and following each step of investigation and arrest. The accused lady is working in health department.

Both the accused ladies has been arrested and sent to the custody. Confirmation is been given by DSP saab personallly. @TajinderBagga @sharmarekha

In his police complaint, Sukhdei’s son Rammehar accused his wife and mother-in-law of torturing her mother for long. Rammehar drives a private milk van.
