A police official who was on his regular duty in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, asked a to remove her encroaching tea stall from the road. The woman allegedly threw steaming tea at the police official in return.
The accused woman was arrested from the campus of the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH).
Case:
The tea seller woman was identified as Sarita Devi who is a resident of Rasulpur Salim village. The attacked cop was identified as outpost in-charge, Suman Jha.
On Monday evening, Jha went to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) to remove encroachment from the easter gate and other nearby places. Jha went to the area after he was informed about illegal tea and snacks stalls.
Dr Vikas Kumar, the principal of the SKMCH had written to the cops, claiming that the stalls were causing problems to the patients, their attendants and doctors.
Woman Attacked Police
When Jha reached Devi’s stall and asked her about the kiosk, she allegedly flew into a fit of rage and started abusing Jha. Devi allegedly threw tea on Jha’s face and he fell on the ground. The cop was taken to the emergency ward by the campus security personnel.
Jha was referred to the Patna Medical College and Hospital on Monday when his condition deteriorated. Sunil Razak, station house officer (SHO) of Ahiyapur police station said,
The woman has been arrested, while two of her associates are still absconding. Raids are on to nab them. They will be arrested soon.
Further probe is underway.
