After the news of domestic violence charges broke against BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty, he has requested the media to stay out of their personal matter as the same is sub judice.
Wife and actor Varsha Priyadarshini has filed a case of domestic violence against her husband in a Cuttack Court. A day after the same was made public, Anubhav said that he had already filed for a divorce case in the Patiala House Court in New Delhi in July this year. He quoted:
I have tried my level best to reason, to explain, to understand, and to make amends; unfortunately things didn’t shape up as expected. Hence, it seemed the best way to part ways amicably. I and my entire family sincerely tried our best for a mutual separation just because we were concerned about each other’s social image and dignity.
In the press release issued by him, Lok Sabha MP said that his marriage was on the rocks for a while now. He also said that he only moved court for contested divorce after he realised that he was left with no option as there was no scope for mutual separation.
In his 47-page petition before the family court, the MP has alleged his wife of mental and physical harassment.
On other hand, the wife has also broken her silence over the matter and posted an emotional write up on Facebook. She quotes:
Truth can never remain hidden. One should fear God before blaming someone with fake and false allegations. I have complete faith in my almighty. Nothing above law. I need blessing of each and everyone in this toughest time which I am going through. Trying to break the silence.
The above post was published on her social media account just a day before the hearing of the domestic violence case was about to begin at the Cuttack Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate court.
BJD MP Demands Privacy From Media
Mohanty requested all the media persons gathered in front of his home to not disturb him and his family. He also asked them not to interfere in their personal matter. Anubhav said that his father is on dialysis and not well right now, hence, he needs to be with his father.
Speaking about the case, he said that the “matter is sub-judice”. The MP also said that he believes in law and trusts that justice will happen. Annoyed by people showing up outside his house and disturbing their privacy, he also lost his cool and said,
Don’t do these dirty politics in front of my house.
Congress Attacks Anubhav Politically
Meanwhile, the Congress on Sunday demanded the BJD leader hand over his resignation for ‘allegedly’ torturing his wife and actress Varsha Priyadarshini.
Talking to media persons, Tara Prasad Bahinipati called out BJD president Naveen Patnaik and said that the party talks about respect to mothers, however, unfortunately, his own party MP tortures his wife.
Bahinipati also insisted that the CM should take immediate actions and should ask the MP Mohanty
to resign from his post, failing which the Congress will be forced to take to the streets. He said,
Is this the team of Naveen Babu?
BJD leader Arabinda Dhali on the other hand said that nobody should comment on this issue as it is a family matter of Mohanty and he will find a way to resolve it.
