Aditya Dash Death Case: “Psycho Lady Behind My Son’s Death”, Alleges Father

Aditya Dash, a known motivational speaker and social worker from Bhubaneswar was found dead on the railway track near Lingaraj Temple Road station in the State Capital city on July 7, following which GRP registered a case and launched a probe to find out whether he was killed or committed suicide.

Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay then said that the Crime Branch had been directed to take over investigation into the case which was being probed by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Bhubaneswar. On July 30, DGP tweeted:

Now, in a shocking twist in the case, Aditya’s father alleged that a woman had one-sided love affair with his son and might have killed Aditya. Describing the woman as a ‘psycho lady’, Aditya’s father said,

She used to blackmail my son and wanted to marry him. However, my son was never in a relationship with her.

He added,

We have already told the Crime Branch about the woman.

Case Background:

Aditya was found dead on a railway track near Lingaraj Temple Road station in the city on July 7. He had recently married on June 9 and was running an old-age home at Sundarapara in the city. Aditya was involved in social service through an NGO namely ‘People For Seva’.

Post-mortem report revealed that he died due to grievous injuries on his head.

Aditya’s suspected marital discord with wife Bidyashree and alleged mismanagement of funds in the NGO were also under the scanner of the Crime Branch. Police recovered CCTV footage from the activist’s house and the railway station in course of its investigation.

The late activist’s friends and relatives alleged foul play behind his death and refused to accept that Das, known for his inspiring talks and encouraging acts, could have committed suicide.

A hand-written letter in Odia was also found with messages for his family, friends and those associated with the old age home established by him. The letter was examined by the State Forensic Science Laboratory and found to have been written by him, police said.
