Gender Politics has become really serious!!! During the monsoon session this year, the Shinde Sena Maharashtra government had announced Ladli Bahin Yojana.
The scheme was tabled in the assembly by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and aimed at married, divorced and destitute women in the 21-60 age group, who would get a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500. After deliberations, the age bar was raised to 65 years by CM Eknath Shinde.
Subsequently, we saw the opposition Sena, where Uddhav Thackeray questioned freebies given only on the basis of gender, thereby, completely ignoring the struggles of men equally. He even said, if we have Ladli Bahen Yojana, we must also have Laadka Bhau Yojana to balance the distribution of welfare schemes.
Voice For Men India had created a stir on X (formerly Twitter) supporting Uddhav Thackeray’s statement on unfair treatment to men, only because of their gender.
NEVER EXPECTED ANY POLITICIAN TO SAY THIS!

Now, in a turn of events, the Maharashtra Government has introduced a special scheme on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi on Wednesday. This new scheme will be called ‘Ladla Bhai Yojana’ – a scheme for youths who have passed the 12th grade. Under this scheme, students who have completed their 12th grade will receive Rs 6,000 per month. Additionally, students holding a diploma will receive Rs 8,000 per month, while those who have completed their graduation will be given Rs 10,000 per month, reported The Free Press Journal.
Announcing the scheme, CM Shinde stated that the government will provide financial support to the state’s youth for apprenticeships in factories where they will work. He emphasized that this is the first time in history that any government has introduced such a scheme, claiming it as a solution to the problem of unemployment. Under this scheme, the youth will be given opportunities for apprenticeships in factories and the government will provide them with a stipend.
The state will go for Assembly Polls at the end of 2024! We don’t know whether giving freebies to any gender – whether men or women will be the solution to unemployment. We also don’t know whether such welfare schemes announced just before state elections will empower the youth or make them lazy…..but until then, Jai Maharashtra!!
