In a shocking incident, a young man from Poojappura in Kerala, lost his vision after a married woman allegedly threw acid at him. Police has arrested the accused woman, after the act was caught of CCTV camera.
The incident took place at Adimali in Kerala’s Idukki district.
Case:
The victim, Arun Kumar (27), is a native of Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram district. He met the accused, Sheeba, 35, through social media and the two fell in love.
However, Arun decided to marry another girl, after confirming that Sheeba is married with two children. This fuelled Sheeba’s resentment, according to the police.
But she kept forcing Arun to marry her and later, also blackmailed him and demanded Rs 2 lakh. On November 16, Sheeba called Arun Kumar near St Antony’s Church at Irumpupalam near Adimali to discuss the matter, however, attacked him there with acid, reported English Mathrubhumi.
CCTV Footage
The CCTV footage from the area shows the two talking before Arun walks some distance away. The video shows Sheeba walking towards him and attacking him with acid.
Arun Kumar reportedly lost sight in one of his eyes, while Sheeba’s face and arm were also seriously injured in the attack. Arun Kumar is undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, Sheeba was nabbed from her husband’s home and taken into custody by the Adimali police on Friday.
