After the recent viral video from Tamil Nadu where a teacher was seen mercilessly beating up a male student, another private school teacher was arrested for allegedly beating a Class 7 student to death for not completing his homework. The incident took place in Salasar village of Churu district in Rajasthan.
However, we could hardly hear any noise from copy paste social media portals, because the victim happens to be a boy!
Case:
The teacher, identified as Manoj Kumar, allegedly thrashed the 13-year-old boy with sticks after it was found that the latter didn’t complete his homework.
Salasar SHO Sandeep Vishnoi said one Omprakash, a resident of Kolasar, told police that his son Ganesh Sharma was a student of Class 7 in a private school. He said that in the past 15-days, the boy had complained around four to five times that his teacher was “beating him for no reason”.
The incident came to light around 9:15 am on Wednesday when the accused teacher called Omprakash, informing him that his 13-year-old son had fallen unconscious. Manoj told Omprakash that the boy didn’t complete his homework and that’s why he was beaten up, following which he fell unconscious.
Omprakash, who was working on the field at the time, asked Manoj if he had killed the child. In his reply, the teacher said that the boy was indeed “pretending to be dead”.
After some time, when Omprakash reached the school, he found that his wife was already present there and that all the other students were terrified. Other students said that Manoj mercilessly thrashed the boy, pinned him down and hit him with fist and feet.
The boy was then taken to a nearby private hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
Later, the father registered a case against the accused teacher under Section 302. Kumar was arrested soon after the case was filed.
Govind Singh Dotasra, Education Minister, Rajasthan acknowledged this incident and tweeted,

An officer said that the boy fell unconscious and was taken to a hospital where he succumbed later. A senior officer told TOI,
Ganesh had begun going to school after it reopened recently. The family claimed that they had received a call from the school staff that Ganesh was taken to the hospital.
The officer said that a medical board conducted the post-mortem on Wednesday. He quoted,
We are recording the statements in the case. The teacher was held immediately after the incident for interrogation. A preliminary investigation has pointed out that the teacher had slapped the student on his back and he fell unconscious in the classroom.
What exactly transpired following that is a matter of investigation.
