A Bengaluru woman has accused her daughter-in-law and her accomplice of murder, three weeks after her 40-year-old son was found dead. She has filed a complaint with the police.
Case:
Chandrashekar, from Siddapura in Bengaluru’s Varthur area, worked as a supervisor at a private firm. He had been married to Pushpa for 13-years and the couple did not have any children.
A couple of years ago, he had fallen from an under-construction building and suffered head injuries. He continued to work with the same firm.
On February 21, he reportedly collapsed in the bathroom and was taken to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead. The police then registered an unnatural death report and a post-mortem examination was conducted by doctors.
Mother Files Murder Case
Gayathriamma, mother of the deceased man, has now said she later overheard a conversation between her daughter-in-law and the latter’s siblings at the hospital. They were allegedly discussing Pushpa’s relationship with another man and the possibility of her son being murdered.
Reportedly, Pushpa had been in love with a man identified as Manu for two-years. It is stated that elders in her family were aware of their relationship and had asked her to end it.
The victim’s mother grew suspicious and alerted the cops who arrested the two on March 13.
The police suspect that Manu had come to Pushpa’s house while drunk. He allegedly hit Chandrashekar on the head with a rod. They then shifted the body to the bathroom to make it look like an accidental death.
