Woman Accused Of Extra Marital Affair, Her Family & Paramour Burn Husband Alive With Diesel

A woman burnt her husband alive in Paharpur village of Kasganj Kotwali area in Uttar Pradesh. The accused woman’s family and her alleged paramour too assisted her in setting the man on fire.

Case:

Amit, a resident of Paharpur village, was married to Sangeeta, however, the couple was undergoing marital dispute. According to Amit’s father, Suresh Chandra, his 25-year-old son was at their home at around 6.30pm on the evening of January 30, when one Hemant called him at a designated location where the victim’s in-laws were working.

Murder

A group of people including wife Sangeeta, father-in-law, Ramswaroop, Rakesh Jatav alias Bunty, Hemant, (both the residents of the village), started beating Amit with sticks and then set him on fire by throwing diesel on his body.

Amit was later dumped outside his house when his family came running to see what had happened to their son. Until then, all the accused had left the place already. The family rushed the victim to a government hospital, but later had to be shifted to Soroan CHC, a private hospital since he was in severe condition. Amit could not sustain the burns and died on Sunday morning at 7am.

Family Registered Case

Amit’s family named his wife, father-in-law, Rakesh, Hemant, and Sangeeta’s brother-in-law as accused in the murder. The cops have arrested one of the accused (Rakesh) and are questioning him while trying to track the other accused as well.

Kasganj SP, Manoj Kumar, briefed media that they started working on the case as soon as they received a complaint from the family of the deceased. He assured that all accused will be nabbed soon.

The cops then sent Amit’s body for post-mortem and registered a case against the four accused, including the wife and father-in-law, based on the deceased’s father complaint.

As reported by IANS, Suresh Chandra further alleged that Amit’s wife Sangeeta was having an extra-marital affair with Rakesh. Chandra also informed police that before his death, Amit informed him how Sangeeta, Hemant and Rakesh poured diesel on him and set him ablaze. Aditya Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police, said,

Based on the complaint by Amit’s father, we have filed a case against Sangeeta, her father Ram Swaroop, Hemant Jatav and Rakesh under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Rakesh is arrested and the other accused will be arrested soon. We are probing the case further.
