A case has been reported from Bagru Police station area in Jaipur, Rajasthan during early hours of January 19, where a woman murdered her husband after a fight between the couple.
The woman later tried to hurriedly cremate the body calling it an accident.
Case:
Victim Suraj Mal Bairwa (45) came to his house at Bagru in an intoxicated condition at 11 pm on January 18. According to DCP (West) Bajrang Singh Shekhawat,
His wife Mamta Devi had cooked dinner for him but he insisted on going out to have non-vegetarian food.
DCP further added,
This triggered an argument between them. When the husband started thrashing her, the woman picked up a hammer and hit the husband on the head and other parts of the body. She confessed that she was in rage and thus hit him hard.
Later on Tuesday at 4am, the woman realized that her husband had died after the attack. Thereafter, she called her relatives in the native village of the family and informed them that Suraj had died after he met with an accident. Singh said,
The woman along with her three children and relatives took the body to Bhagwatshingpura village under Phagi police station area. However, some of the locals intimated us and said that they don’t believe the theory of the woman that her husband had met with an accident.
On the day of the funeral, the police reached the spot and took the woman into the custody for interrogation. Singh further said,
She confessed her crime and stated that it was a murder in a fit of rage since her husband was beating her over a trivial issue of eating out. The woman has been arrested on the charges of murder.
