Woman Pours Boiling Oil On Husband’s Face While He Was Asleep After An Altercation

In a horrifying incident of Domestic Violence Against Men reported from Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, a 35-year-old woman allegedly poured hot oil on her 38-year-old husband’s face, inflicting ‘severe’ burn injuries. The husband had returned home late from work and the couple had a heated altercation.

Case:

The accused wife identified as Shivkumari Ahirwar had frequent arguments with her husband Arvind Ahirwar. The husband is a daily wage labourer and would often returned home late from work. On a particular occasion, one such argument flared up between the couple in the night, however, their family members intervened and calmed the situation. However, at around 5 am, Shivkumari, who was still fuming with anger, poured hot oil on Arvind’s face while he was sleeping.

Hearing the noise, the family members rushed to the couple’s room and took Arvind to a hospital for treatment.

Following this violent attack on the man, the police were informed and a case was registered against Shivkumari. A police officer informed TOI,

They had an argument over returning late from work. She took the violent step in the morning when the whole family was sleeping.

Wife Expresses Regret

Arvind is being administered treatment at Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar, for the ‘severe’ burn injuries he sustained when his wife poured hot oil on his face. Meanwhile, the victim’s brother said that Shivkumari has expressed regret over her violent act.

Police Statement

Karrapur police out post in-charge Yashpal Singh Sisodia told the media that a case has been registered on the basis of statement given by Arvind.
