Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Accused Of Raping Mumbai-Based Model In 2013 | NCW Takes Note

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken note of a media report which has covered the allegations of a Mumbai-based model levelled against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The NCW today said that the report details how the model was not just raped by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader but also threatened her and her family to stay mum about the crime.

Case:

In a letter that has now gone viral on social media, the alleged rape survivor has detailed the incidents of the last seven years. NCW quoted,

NCW has come across a media report regarding a Mumbai-based model who has alleged that she was not only raped by Hemant Soren (Jharkhand CM) and Suresh Nagre in 2013, but she and her family were also constantly threatened against speaking about the alleged incident in public.

Adding further, NCW said,

It is also reported that the viral letter, reportedly written by the victim, contains details of incidents that have occurred in the last seven years. NCW Chairperson has written to Maharashtra DGP seeking detailed action taken report of the case which was filed in 2013.

The Commission said it has written to the Maharashtra Director General of Police with regard to the case that was registered way back in 2013.

In July this year, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey had raised the matter and called for reopening of the alleged rape and kidnapping case. The case, which was filed by the model in 2013, was later withdrawn following a ‘compromise’.

BJP MP had then tweeted, attaching a letter he had written to the Maharashtra Home Minister in this regard. He quoted,

This allegation against a Chief Minister is really shameful, Mumbai Police must re-open the case and investigate the matter.

Soren had responded to Dubey’s tweet,

Respected MP has made some allegations on me. You will get a legal reply within 48 hours. Please stop misguiding people as per your conduct.

माननीय सांसद जी इसका जवाब आपको अगले 48 घंटे में कानूनी रूप से दिया जायेगा।
