The pandemic of Coronavirus has led to some serious implications on both men and women. A case of a married woman — who is also a mother — marrying three other men in three months has been reported from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
The accused woman allegedly cheated several men on pretext of marriage.
Case:
On October 31, a woman named Vijaya Amrute, a resident of Mukunwadi, was arrested after one of the victims filed a complaint in the police station and soon the cops went searching for her. Yogesh Shirsath of Sinnar, Nashik approached police accusing Amrute of marrying him and fleeing away with his valuables just within a fortnight.
The accused woman had lost her job during lockdown and thus she opted to join the racket. As pre initial inquiries done by the cops, Amrute is a married woman and also has a son. She joined the gang who duped men on pretext of marriage, as she was facing financial crisis due to her husband being unemployed as well.
According to a police official, the arrested woman allegedly married thrice in three months, duping all the men after marrying them. She would leave the marital home within a fortnight taking away all valuables.
Three Marriages
Amrute first married Shirsath and eloped with ornaments within a fortnight after the marriage. Thereafter, her second marriage was with Sandeep Darade, a resident of Raigad’s Karjat. Lastly, she married someone from western Maharashtra and cheated him too.
It was Shirsath who initially tried searching for his wife and when he learnt that Amrute married another man and fled with his valuables too, he lodged a police complaint. Based on his information, cops started their probe in the case and arrested the woman after locating her.
