Yet another #HusbandSuicide has been reported from Punjab, where the man took the extreme step of ending his life after constant humiliation by his in-laws.
Police has filed a case based on the complaint by father of the deceased man.
Case:
Gurinder Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of village Badwali, Punjab, swallowed a poisonous substance and died by suicide.
According to Sadar police station in-charge Rohit Sharma, the man got married to Dhanwant Kaur, daughter of Jagir Singh, a resident of Arnauli village, 10-years ago.
A few days back, Gurinder went to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding. Reportedly he consumed alcohol at the marriage and got into a fight with his in-laws. On November 4, when he returned to bring his wife back home from her parent’s house, his father-in-law, brothers-in-law Bachittar Singh and Balwinder Singh, thrashed and verbally abused him.

After he came back to his own house, Gurinder could not tolerate the humiliation caused to him and thus ended up consuming a poisonous substance. He was soon rushed to a hospital. After getting first aid, he was referred to a private hospital in Mohali, where he took his last breath during the treatment.
SI Gurmeet Singh stated that police has handed over the body of the deceased to his family after the post-mortem. The cops have started the investigation in the case and have also registered a complaint against the accused in-laws.
