A young man from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, ended his life alleging constant threats of blackmail and demand of money from a woman, with whom he was in a relationship at one point in time. When the man could not tolerate the matter further, he died by suicide on Saturday leaving behind a 20-page note.
Case:
28-year-old man, Sahebrao Namdev Deshatwad, a resident of TV centre chowk was in a relationship with a woman who later turned out to be an extortionist. The woman also constantly abused him, taunted his father and repeatedly demanded money from the man.
When he could not take the stress anymore, he took the extreme step by hanging himself at his home over the weekend. On Saturday night, he went to his bedroom on the second floor. After he did not come down for a long time, his family members went to check on him. This is when the father saw him hanging through the ceiling with the help of a saree.
Sahebrao also left behind a 20-page suicide note elaborating the harassment he and his family had undergone. Sahebrao who was working as Deputy Tehsildar, was suspended by Paithan police in an alleged case related to ration card last year. The man also named some police officials for harassing the family and extorting money colluding with the woman and her friends.
The accused woman had also shared one link with the deceased over WhatsApp, and when he clicked on the same, she allegedly siphoned off all the money from his account. Sahebrao has written in detail about these instances in his suicide note. He has also mentioned the name of the accused woman along with her three to four friends.
Relatives of the victim are outraged after this shocking incident. They are adamant not to cremate the body until a case is filed against the accused.
Alleged Harassment By Police
While investigating the ration card case, the cops used abusive language against the father of the victim. The deceased had also filed a complaint with the Hersul police alleging that the investigating police entered their residence abruptly, and also knocked on the door while his mother was in the bathroom.
The family is strictly demanding a case against the accused woman.
