A 59-year-old PWD worker died by suicide by consuming poison at his residence in Delhi. The man was struggling with mental problems, since he was constantly allegedly being harassed by a woman who was demanding money from him.
After registering a case at Dwarka North police station, the cops have commenced to investigate the case.
Case:
Victim Jagdish Chand used to work in PWD. The deceased’s son, Amit Gehlot told the investigating officers that he lived with his family in Dwarka Sector-28, Bamdoli village. Amit said that the deceased has also left a suicide note in which he stated that the woman was constantly demanding money from him. Due to this, he was extremely disturbed and finally decided to take this extreme step by consuming poison.
According to the police, during interrogation, it has been learnt that the PWD worker was not even able to support his family with his salary for the last few months. This had become the centre of tension and stress for the Chand’s family.
On October 4, at six in the morning, Jagdish Chand’s friend Bharat Bhushan came to his house. After which, Amit and his friends went to his father’s room. He was lying on his bed in critical condition. He told them that a woman was constantly harassing and demanding money from him. The woman lives in Badarpur, however, no further details are known about her yet.
Seeing his father’s condition worsening, Amit along with his friends immediately rushed him to a nearby ‘Akash Hospital’, wherein doctors declared him dead.
The suicide note was later recovered from Chand senior’s pocket, that was handed over to his family members. The police has started investigating the case.
