When a country empowers woman with highly biased laws, many try to take undue advantage even after committing a crime. A shocking case has been reported from Madhya Pradesh where a 35-year-old woman allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old boy and later threatened him.
The matter did not end here. The woman’s husband and in-laws allegedly also demanded Rs 1 lakh from the teenager and threatened to frame him in a false rape case. The woman sexually assaulted the teen twice, reported Times Now.
Case:
On May 27, the woman’s in-laws and husband learned about their daughter-in-law’s behaviour with a minor. Instead of helping the teenager, they demanded Rs 1 lakh from his family and also threatened to implicate him in a false rape case.
When the boy’s family refused to pay the amount, the woman’s husband and father-in-law allegedly damaged their agricultural land and cut down papaya trees.
The minor got tired of this harassment and decided to contact Childline at Rajgarh and spoke to counsellor Manish Dangi. Meanwhile, the local police was also informed about the incident. Dangi told Hindustan Times,
The boy was in depression after the incident but due to fear of social stigma, he didn’t share his ordeal with anyone. When the woman’s family started harassing his family, the boy gathered the courage of informing us. He is still being counselled by us.
Minor Boy Feared Social Stigma
The boy, who was reportedly in depression, refrained from narrating his ordeal to anyone as he feared social stigma. The teenager, however, gathered the courage of informing Childline officials after the accused started threatening his family. The boy was counselled by the officials.
Rajgarh superintendent of police, Pradeep Sharma told Hindustan Times,
The woman sexually assaulted the minor boy, who lives in the same village, twice. On May 27, her husband and in-laws came to know about it. They demanded Rs 1 lakh from the boy’s family, threatening to implicate them in a fake case of rape if they failed to pay up. When the boy’s family refused to pay, the woman’s husband and father-in-law damaged their agricultural land by cutting down papaya trees.
The woman’s husband, and parents-in-law were arrested under
- Section 384 (punishment for extortion)
- Section 427 (mischief causing damage)
….while charges were pressed against the accused adult woman under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
