Woman Arrested For Plotting Murder Of Son-in-Law Because He Was “Poor”

A woman in Jodhpur, Rajasthan has been arrested for allegedly plotting murder of her son-in-law, due to his poor standard of lifestyle. The woman planned the murder by hiring her neighbours, who executed the horrific crime.

Case:

Vinod had married Gyarsi Devi’s only daughter four years ago. Gyarsi Devi’s husband was a former MES employee (Military Engineer Services) and no longer alive. The woman was enjoying a comfortable retirement where she also received rental income from her shops.

The son-in-law, now deceased, was a labourer. The mother-in-law was was unhappy with his low income levels and thus decided to get him eliminated. It must be noted that the accused woman’s daughter and wife of the deceased is pregnant and living at her mother’s place at the time of murder.

Murder:

Vinod’s mother-in-law, Gyarsi Devi, plotted to assassinate him by giving a supari of Rs 5 lakh to Jabbar Singh Rajpurohit, 36, and Dhanraj Goswami, 21, who used to live in their neighbourhood.

Vinod had visited his in-laws in Maderna Colony on July 31, according to the investigation. The victim had gone to his in-laws’ residence alone and returned alone, according to the surveillance footage.

A body of an unknown person was recovered in a plastic bag in front of the Anganwa Road Narayan Palace in Jodhpur on August 1. The skull and face of the corpse were entirely destroyed.

Police Investigation:

The Jodhpur Police Department identified Vinod’s body and arrested Devi within three days of the same.

According to SHO Suresh Soni, the deceased had left his in-laws’ house after meeting his wife on the night of July 31.

Jabbar Singh owns and operates a tailoring shop and had taken Vinod along with him and got him drunk. Later, the victim was beaten up and repeatedly stabbed with a screwdriver as he lost his consciousness. Vinod was later strangled to death with the help of a rope and his body was placed in a plastic bag and dumped into the bushes. Dhanraj, another accused, is a cab driver. The two later drove his body and dumped it in the bushes.

According to Soni, investigation was underway.
