This case pertains to April 2019. A wife and a mother of two daughters from Maharashtra had eloped with her paramour which resulted in the most tragic death of her husband and children. The man was unable to take the trauma due to which he decided to end his and his daughter’s lives.
Men’s Day Out strictly condemns any such action, however, these stories do project ground reality when Men are unable to face sudden desertion by their wives, and feel helpless due to women centric laws in our country.
Case:
The incident had been reported from Balharshah of Chandrapur district near Nagpur, where the husband who worked as a ITI teacher strangulated his daughters and then ended his own life.
Rishikant C Kudupalli (40) lived with his wife Pragati and two daughters, Narayani (5) and Karthiki (2), in the Jai Bhim Chowk Complex of Vivekananda ward in Balharshah.
Rishikant’s wife was allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with a driver who lived in the same locality. Eight days before the incident, the woman had eloped with her lover, leaving behind her husband and children. Despite Rishikant’s efforts to persuade his wife to return, at least for the sake of their children, the woman did not listen and remained adamant on her decision.

Subsequently, Kudupalli even lodged a complaint with the police, however, later on April 1, 2019, he hanged his 5-year-old girl with a cloth. Thereafter, he hanged his second 2-year-old daughter as well. The husband then sent photographs of his dead daughters to his wife via whatsapp.
When the woman received those photographs, she immediately called her father, who was a resident of Varora. As Rishikant’s brother Gopal C. Kudupalli lived on the floor below him, the father-in-law called to inform him about his brother and children. The brother-in-law was also the one who would often look after the two little girls.
Hearing the news, deceased’s brother rushed to Rishikant’s house and started knocking at the door, however, he availed no response. The residents of the area immediately informed the Balharshah police, who arrived at the spot and broke opened the door. To everyone’s shock, all three bodies of father and children were found hanging in three different rooms.
