A medical student was found dead while studying in his second year at Vasant Pawar Medical College in Nashik, Maharashtra. The victim’s family has accused couple of female students who are allegedly responsible for the son taking his life.
While investigation is underway, family is also suspicious and calling it a murder.
Case:
Dr. Swapnil Shinde was a medical student studying gynaecology at a Nashik college. He was a gold medal winner and had completed his MBBS in 2018 from Krishna Medical College in Karad and was subsequently pursuing MD at Nashik.
According to Swapnil’s father Maharudra Shinde, his son died due to alleged mental harassment and ragging by two female students at the college. His family claimed that Swapnil left a suicide note naming the two girls who were allegedly ragging him. The family wants college administration to register a case against both alleged accused.
Death & Post Mortem
Swapnil was found unconscious in the washroom next to the operation theatre at the medical college. Later, Dr Jitendra Khodilkar declared him dead and matter was reported with the Adgaon police station.
Victim’s body was sent to Nashik District Hospital for autopsy, but his family has refused to take their child’s body, until a police case is registered.
As reported by Lokmat News18, Swapnil’s cousin who is also a doctor, was present during the postmortem and according to him, Swapnil’s chest was broken due to a severe blow to his chest. Thus, the family is now also questioning whether this was suicide or murder?
