A case has been filed at Mankapur police station in Nagpur, Maharashtra, after the victim’s wife, sister-in-law and mother-in-law thrashed the man, fracturing his leg and two fingers. The dispute between the accused and victim was an alleged loan taken in the name of wife.
Case:
Robin Abhay Singh (37), New Mankapur resident had married Malia and the two have a five-year-old son named Johan. Due to frequent fights between the couple, wife is residing with her mother Nafees Wasim Mohammad, at the Taj Nagar slum.
Robin had taken a loan in the name of his wife to a tune of Rs 4.10 lakh and he was also paying a monthly EMI of Rs 15,000 towards the same. On July 10, 2021, Malia called up Robin and asked him to come over to her mother’s house, where both mother-daughter allegedly abused the man asking him to hand over entire principal amount to the wife.

Robin started mobile video recording of the verbal threats given by his wife and mother-in-law. This is when Malia got extremely furious and with the help of her sister Rahila (27), the accused women twisted Robin’s hand and began punching and kicking him, pinning him down on the ground. Victim’s mother-in-law too joined in and all ended up fracturing one of Robin’s legs and two fingers of one hand.
The victim husband was then rushed to the hospital and was critical. Sunita Thackeray, a social activist, soon got involved in the matter and subsequently a case was filed against Robin’s wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. The inquiry is still underway.
