Woman Files ‘Rape On Pretext Of Marriage’ Against Male Lawyer Who Was Fighting Her Alimony Case

Women who cry victim and go to court for interim maintenance or alimony, often believe that irrespective of their acts, they deserve rights and justice from all sides and all men. Such is a case from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman fighting alimony battle, has now accused her own male lawyer of raping her for five long years.

The woman is a resident of Katanwa village in Kotwali Nagar area of the district. She was going through a matrimonial dispute with her husband, following which she had filed a complaint in the civil court for alimony. For fighting the legal case, she got acquainted with lawyer Arvind Kumar, son of Sitaram who is a resident of Bela Paschim Darshan of Kudwar police station. According to the woman, she was lured by this lawyer to win her the required alimony amount from court.

As the case was going on for five years, the woman now suddenly claims of being raped by her lawyer constantly during this period. She remained mum while consensually indulging in sexual activities with the lawyer, in the greed of extorting more money legally from her estranged husband, however, in the bargain she became pregnant with her paramour cum legal advisor.

When the woman started pressurising the man to marry her, he refused and incidentally also threatened her that he would implicate her in a false case. This is when the woman landed at a police station to file a rape complaint against Kumar. Initially the police who had been influenced by the lawyer, returned the woman. However, later SP Amit Verma insisted on registering the matter.

The SP then ordered police station chief Madhukant Mishra to file a case immediately. After SP’s rebuke, the police have registered a case and started investigation. Mishra confirmed that a case of rape is being registered against the lawyer.

This case is important from two angles; primarily a married woman who claims to be victim in court demanding money from her estranged husband, has no qualms of indulging into physical relationship with another man at the same time. Secondly, her consensual relationship as an adult with the lawyer, suddenly turns into rape when the man refuses to marry her.

Thus, the women in such cases have no fear of law from either sides and are only encouraged to trap men, even when they are themselves equally involved in the act.
