P Pranay, 29-year-old software engineer hailing from Anantapur city, died by suicide in Canada at 2pm (IST) on Saturday.
A native from Hyderabad, Pranay ended his life by inhaling nitrogen gas over alleged disputes with girlfriend. The family who are residents of Habsiguda in the city, were intimidated of their son’s death on Sunday.
Case:
Pranay moved to Canada a few years ago became friends with a girl named Akhila, as reported by Siasat Daily. The two then fell in love and were in a live-in relationship. The couple was also going to tie the knot in August this year. However, when the girl broke up, Pranay was compelled to take this extreme step.
In his suicide note, Pranya alleged that Akhila stopped all communication with him, after she received an H1B visa. The victim further wrote that he was blamed for his rude behaviour which resulted in the break-up. However, Pranay also blamed Akhila’s parents for harassing and holding him responsible for the breakup of the relationship.

As reported by TOI, Pranay recorded an audio-video clip and also left behind a suicide note in which he alleged that his girlfriend started avoiding him completely after she secured a H1B visa and moved to the United states of America recently.
We planned to get married and lead a happy life. But she dumped me and unfriended me on all social media platforms after securing a H1B visa and moving to the USA.
Pranay asked his family members to donate his organs as his last wish.
As reported by TV 9, Pranay also wrote,
Because of her mother’s taunts, I had to leave my dad and come back to Canada early so I could reduce her expenses to 18 days instead of 45.
As reported by The Hindu, family members received the information late and people from the Telugu community living there dissuaded them from going to Canada as stringent containment measures for the COVID-19 was in force.

It is learnt that the Telugu community in Canada is helping the family members get the post-mortem done and send the body back to Anantapur.
Saturday and Sunday being holidays, the body will be flown from Canada on Thursday and likely to reach India on Friday. Pranay is survived by his parents and an elder sister living in the U.S.
