Shashank Singh, living in Sector 39 area of Noida allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a fan at his house in the early hours of Thursday.
The deceased was a resident of Sector 41 and worked as a manager at a multinational company in Noida. Inspector Neeraj Malik, officer-in-charge at the Sector 39 police station, confirmed that Singh committed suicide by hanging himself at his house on August 29.
After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, took the body and sent it for postmortem. The station in-charge said that Singh was working in Noida after completing his MBA. He was recently married in the month of January this year.
The wife of the deceased is a chartered accountant and is living in Mumbai separately from her husband. The police confirmed of an on-going dispute between the two spouses.
Malik said that during interrogation, the police came to know that there was a prolonged argument between the husband and his wife over the phone the previous night. The police is investigating the matter after taking all aspects into consideration.
In another incident reported earlier this week, a Bangalore man committed suicide as he was allegedly unable to bear the harassment from his wife and in-laws. Amongst other things, Srinivas was allegedly harassed for coming home late. The Karnataka High Court has called this “a very strange case”.
