A female cop from Sitapur’s Hargaon Police station area, accused a man of molesting her in the middle of the road, while the man denied all charges.
The accused man left a dying declaration before ending his life, which has been reported by Punjab Kesari. Police is investigating the matter.
Case:
According to Additional SP RP Singh, on November 18,
Two women constables and other male constable were on duty in Hargaon police station area. Two men named Prabhas Tiwari and Rohit Jaiswal who were passing by the road, allegedly made some comments on one of the woman constables.
The lady cop then approached the police station and Prabhas Tiwari was taken into custody. However, Tiwari was left after interrogation.

Prabhas later consumed poison and also denied all charges before dying. While he was rushed to the district government hospital, his condition worsened and he was subsequently referred to a hospital in Lucknow.
Tiwari, unfortunately, died at the second hospital while undergoing his treatment.
Background
The female police officer had accused Prabhas of molesting her. After the matter was reported, cops took the man into their custody and allegedly thrashed him. However, he was later allowed to go.
Nonetheless, Prabhas was scared after the incident and was also unable to absorb this humiliation that he decided to consume poison.
In his dying declaration given to the media, Prabhas named the lady police constable and said:
It was not my fault. I was on my way home after buying a few things. She was going somewhere and was drunk. She just took off on me. First, she slapped me and then, threatened to me saying, I’ll tell you who I am.
Thereafter, she took me to the police station and made me sit there the whole night. I wasn’t able to bear the humiliation I faced without even doing anything. I have not done anything wrong, hence, I decided to consume poison.
The woman constable should be stripped off her duty as she does not deserve it.

SP Singh in his statement to the media said,
Prabhas consumed poison on November 20. The police station in-charge and many more officials went to see him. He was sent to KGMC hospital in Lucknow, where he later died. Matter is under investigation.
The residents of the locality are dissatisfied with the treatment given to the man by the cops and are demanding justice. The cops have taken the body into their custody and sent it for postmortem.

Sitapur Police has replied to Men’s Day Out article suggesting they are investigating the same in detail.
