Yet another case of a senior citizen man — getting betrayed and beaten over property transfer — has come to the light. A aged father from Panvel in Navi Mumbai was thrashed by his own son and daughter-in-law so gruesomely, that one of his legs and arms have undergone severe damage. Not only the cruel couple, but the elderly man’s wife also joined in, to beat up the old fellow.
The victim has been identified as Mukhwant Singh, a resident of Sector-2, Panvel who had filed a case against his wife, son and daughter-in-law, alleging that they had beaten him till he bled.
Case:
According to Singh’s official complaint, he has been staying separately in another apartment, away from his family since November 2019.
His son had married a woman named Prabhjeet Kaur in Kota on February 14, 2017, as mentioned in the complaint. The son had incidentally told his wife that he was a well-to-do guy having a spacious flat and car, after which she agreed to marry him.

However, soon Kaur learnt about the truth that the real owner of all those properties was not her husband, but her senior citizen father-in-law and thus she felt cheated in the marriage. She then suggested that the owner of the apartment, Mukhwant Singh, should shift to another one BHK flat, whose rent and other requirements will be borne by her and her husband.
On June 16, 2020, the alleged accused couple filed a case against the man to transfer his entire earnings and property under their names. According to Singh, his son entered his residence using a duplicate key and took all his belongings with him. The son even took other important documents such as ration card and gas cylinder with him.
The father requested his son to return his belongings and also asked police officials to arrest the trio on charges of attempt to murder and looting him.

When the father-in-law refused to move out of his own home, the trio, including Mukhwant’s wife, allegedly started harassing him. They would allegedly often beat him up and on one occasion, the son pressed the neck of his father so hard, that it resulted in his nerve getting permanently damaged. Due to this, Mukhwant’s left hand and right leg do not function properly since the day his son has thrashed him.
According to the victim, on September 29, 2020, someone knocked on the door of their apartment and when he opened the same, he saw his wife rushing inside the house. Mukhwant tried to stop her, informing her that there was an ongoing case at the Panvel court and thus, he would not let her enter unless there was a court order.
Hearing this, the daughter-in-law to barged into the house, and both women then started beating him. Thereafter, the son too joined them and started punching and kicking the elderly man even more aggressively, after which he lost balance and fell down.
The assault allegedly did not stop here. According to the complainant, when he was lying on the floor after falling down, his son pulled out two of the four wooden stands that are used to support the mosquito net and started hitting him hard on his head, with an intention to kill him. The nails on the wooden stand also resulted in the man getting deep cuts.
