A doctor from Madhya Pradesh hanged himself on January 27, 2019, under immense mental pressure after a case was registered against him under SC/ST act by one of the nurses in the medical facility. The deceased was identified as Dr Shivam Mishra, who was a native of Rewa.
Mishra was provided accommodation in the Doctor’s Colony by the government where he hanged himself. The doctor reportedly could not handle the pressure of a false case filed a fortnight ago and took ended his life. The investigating officers had then informed media, that there was no suicide note on the scene. A person who knew the deceased well and chose to remain anonymous while giving statement, said that the case registered against Mishra was allegedly frivolous and was out of vengeance as the doctor issued a notice to the said staff on grounds of dereliction of duty.
