Domestic Violence is a crime and the same should not become synonymous only for women as victims. One such horrific case has been reported from Kota, Rajasthan. A daughter-in-law reported killed her elderly father-in-law by hitting him several times on the head with a stick.
While the investigation is on, the elder son of the deceased has registered a case against the accused daughter-in-law.
Case:
Ramlal alias Ramdev (60) was a farmer. His elder son Bhairulal (38) lives in Kota since 3-years. Younger son Satyanarayan (33), his wife and 2 children lived with the parents in Anthada village.
On December 11, at around 8 in the morning, victim’s wife had gone out of the house. Satyanarayan’s wife, children and father (victim) were present at home. Suddenly there was a dispute amongst themselves and Satyanarayan’s wife started beating her father-in-law with a stick. The children, who were traumatised by their mother’s act, ran outside the home and started screaming.
Neighbours rushed in after hearing the kids shouting. Subsequently, they rescued the old man, however, since he was brutally injured, they immediately took him to Bundi Hospital. He was also transferred to another hospital in Kota as he was hit with a serious head injury. Ramlal later died that evening.
Bundi Sadar police station ASI Inder Singh said that the elder son has given a complaint against Satyanarayan’s wife, accusing her of assaulting his father and murdering him.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
