Bengaluru Woman, Her Paramour Murder 70-Year-Old Mother-in-Law After She Objected To Affair

The Railway Police in Bengaluru solved a murder case of a 70-year-old woman whose decapitated body was recovered from the tracks recently. The accused daughter-in-law and her paramour have been arrested who murdered the elderly woman after she learnt about their illicit affair.

Case:

40-year-old Latha was in a relationship with 42-year-old MB Balachandra, a BMTC conductor from Tumakuru.

Latha’s mother-in-law Ningamma (70), a resident of Mandya district, had gone missing on July 19 after she left for her daughter-in-law’s house in Kyathasandra area. 

According to the police, Latha had to pay monthly maintenance to Ningamma from her husband’s property. Moreover, she owed her a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh. Following her husband’s death, Latha developed a relationship with Balachandra. Ningamma learnt about their affair and opposed it, which prompted Latha to conspire with Balachandra and eliminate her mother-in-law.

On July 20, a headless body was found on the tracks. The police learnt about victim’s second son TM Satish who identified his mother’s body. After detailed investigation by police under SP Siri Gowri, they zeroed in on Latha and M.B. Balachandra as prime accused, reported Bangalore Mirror.

Both Latha and Balachandra strangled Ningamma to death and also took away her gold ornaments. Thereafter, they dumped her body on the tracks in order to pass off the crime as an accident. The accused even picked up the victim’s severed head and threw in a truck, so that her identity could be concealed. The victim’s head was later found in Ilkal, around 350 km away from the murder spot.
