A young man from Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh ended his life by hanging himself from a tree in Sohagpur. He also went live on Facebook while doing so. Prior to this, he wrote a suicide note on social media alleging his wife’s infidelity, which had disturbed him terribly.
Men’s Day Out does not promote or advocate any such acts by either genders, however, we only believe in publishing the said facts.
Case:
Neeraj (35) had made certain allegations against his wife Shalini Gupta in his last note. The deceased husband accused his wife of adultery with two other men (Sanjay Namdev) and (Shivkali Saket), whom he also accused of trying to kill his first child. According to Neeraj, when he protested against them, he was threatened to be implicated in a fake case and subsequently face jail term.
The note read that it was Sanjay and Shivkali who got Shalini married to Neeraj and she followed their instructions by not meeting Neeraj before the wedding. Sanjay Singrauli is the leader of Communist Party who allegedly threatened to trap Neeraj in false Harijan (Caste) Act case.
Police Investigation
During the investigation, Shahdol ASP Mukesh Vashish told Bhaskar
Information has been received about hanging on Sohagpur Highway through Facebook Live. The relatives have been informed. Post mortem of the body has to be done. Also, the body will be handed over to the relatives after examination.
Several cases of suicide are being reported on a daily basis due to matrimonial disputes. While women (harassed wives) have many forums to approach supported by gender biased laws, Men (harassed husbands) are left with no option feeling cornered in such situations
Suicide is never an option for anyone. While it is easier said than done, one must speak up what he/she is going through for others to be able to help them.
